Dan Papes

We are a family that lives in Westchester County, New York. We are multi-generation Adirondackers who know the area well, have a deep devotion and love for the communities and nature in the Park. We take a very personal interest in helping our guests enjoy the Adirondacks as we do.

Dan Papes purchased this House in 2012

Why Dan Papes chose Tupper Lake

This property is a classic Adirondack home. We have built it with pride and quality, from the mattresses you sleep on to the equipment in the kitchen to the technology throughout the house.

What makes this House unique

The house is very privately located, and is an easy 1/2 mile drive from the main road on a flat and maintained access road. While very private, it is also an easy drive to 3 different towns, including the wonderful village of Lake Placid.

Amazing house in a fabulous location

You can easily tell the owners made a lot of effort to ensure an unforgettable experience. This is not just a rental, it has an unique style with superb amenities.

Stayed for 4 nights during negative overnight temperatures and the heated floors along with solid insulation made a real difference.

We decided to choose a well stocked, well furnished property to relax after a whole day at a Whiteface, despite slightly longer driving time from Lake Placid. Rather be an extra 25 min on a scenic road and have a great evening time with our group, than choose an average property nearby Whiteface.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful house with our large group!

Amazing experience for our entire family!

We have stayed here 2x now over the past few years. The house is clean, organized and up to date with everything we need and extremely private for hosting our family. Each year we have been more pleased with the property and the ongoing enhancements, such as the pontoon boat available to rent which we took advantage of this year. What we love most is the ability for the home to accommodate our large family, and the location with the beautiful convenience of the lake being right there. We are looking forward to making more memories with our family again next year!

Great house; private location; spectacular view!!

We take a family vacation each year -- three generations, with ages from 5 to 72. We like to go to parts of the country we have never visited before, so Camp Eastwood and the Adirondacks were a first for us. The deck provides a breath taking view of the lake and is a great place to relax with a good book. We enjoyed all the outside activities available on site -- canoeing, kayaking, swimming, fishing, hiking. Games and movies occupied us inside on the two rainy days. We took day trips to Lake Placid and the Olympic sites and to the Wild Center in Tupper Lake for a spectacular view of the Adirondacks. Miniature golf outside Lake Placid was also a big hit with the kids.

The house was fantastic; the 15 of us never felt crowded and we were able to have dinner together at the large dining room table. It had all the amenities to make our stay comfortable and memorable. The owners and the caretaker, Eric, were great to work with. We hated to leave.

Highly recommend Camp Eastwood!

60th Wedding Anniversary week long celebration for our parents

Our family decided to get together for a week this summer in honor of our parents. All of their 4 children, all of their grandchildren, and great grandchildren stayed at some point during the week. What a beautiful home and surroundings! We enjoyed nightly camp fires, huge meals together, hikes, kayaking-no one was bored! My brother brought his boat so the kids loved the lake! Some of us climbed a mountain! We could not have asked for better accommodations and the owners were great! Thank you for sharing your home!
