Bulk Handling or you can say Dry Bulk Handling is the process of using designed machinery and equipments to move or handle the dry bulks with efficiency such as coal, sugar, woodchips, grains or fertilizers pretty much any kind of bulk material which is certainly needed for completing the End product of a particular Industry.
For Example, if a large bakery wanted to improve throughput in their dry bulk handling system, LC & A can help in the moving 3 types of flour and sugar from rail cars to mixers. The project was done in stages with automatic weighing and dispensing to mixers done first; followed by improved rail car unloading and bulk storage. The primary consideration was minimizing downtime in an operating facility so most of the installation was done in parallel with the existing system, with the changeover made in stages. An Allen Bradley PLC 5/40 using a Panel view 1400E for operator interface controlled the bulk handling, with 2 PLC 5/40's and a custom operator interface controlling the weighing and mixing process.
